About SESI
The Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), established in 1976, and having its Secretariat in New Delhi, is the Indian Section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES). SESI is a multi-faceted national membership organization. With its long history and extensive technical and scientific expertise provided by its members, the Society is a modern, future oriented non-governmental organization (NGO). SESI has been serving the needs of the renewable energy community and the Society supports its members in the advancement of the renewable energy technology, implementation and education.
The objectives of the Solar Energy Society of India are to advance, promote and propagate the use of renewable energy by encouraging basic adn applied research in renewable energy by doing following activities:
- collecting, compiling and dissemination information relating to renewable energy
- organizing seminars and conferences, by publishing books, memoirs, journals and proceedings in the field of renewable energy
- instituting awards
- estalishing formal education curriculum in collaboration with other institutions
- establishing renewable energy centers in collaboration whith Corporates, NGOs, Foundations, individuals and government bodies
- collaborating and co-operating with other scientific societies, institutions and academies in the country and abroad for research, development and furtherance of renewable energy utilization
